Meet some of the Family | Ali jones Photography
We explored one of our gorgeous new locations and captured the cheeky giggles, cuddles, and windblown hair (thanks, nature!). It was pure joy to watch them together — so natural, so full of love.
time for an introduction! | Hunter Valley & newcastle photographer
🌟 Hey there! I’m Ali — the face behind Ali Jones Photography! 🌟
It’s been a little while since I introduced myself, so here goes…
I’ve been a photographer for over 18 years now, specialising in Maternity, Newborn & Family Photography, and honestly — I LOVE what I do! I'm a creative soul, and I thrive when I’m in my element: planning, shooting, editing, and delivering beautiful, heartfelt images.
I believe so strongly in capturing real moments — connection, emotion, laughter, the chaos, the love, even the tears and tantrums. Life isn’t perfect, but love is. And I’m all about helping families exist in photos — because these are the memories our kids will hold onto forever.
A little about me: I’m a tad cuddly, there are no filters here, and what you see is what you get! I pride myself on being my true, authentic self — relaxed, down to earth, and maybe a little cheeky too 😄
I’m a mum to three gorgeous kids: Luke (20), Ben (12), and Miss Evie (almost 3), and I have a super supportive hubby who (mostly) goes along with all my crazy creative ideas. 😂
If you're after a photographer who’ll make you feel totally comfortable, keep things fun, and capture the love in all its real, raw beauty — I’d truly love to work with you!
Let’s tell your story 💛

Baby Josie | Hunter valley & newcastle newborn photographer
I photograph newborns generally anywhere from 8-21 days however, newborns are ideally photographed under 2 weeks old—typically between 8 to 14 days—for several important reasons:
Sleepy and Curled Up: During the first two weeks, babies are sleepier and more likely to stay in those curled-up, womb-like poses that define classic newborn photography. This makes it easier to capture peaceful, cozy images.
Flexible and Pliable: Newborns are naturally more flexible in their early days, which allows for safe and comfortable posing that might not be possible even a few weeks later.
Fewer Skin Issues: Around the 2-week mark, babies often begin to develop baby acne, flaky skin, or colic. Photographing them earlier can help avoid these temporary conditions showing up in images.
Sleep Patterns: Very young newborns sleep more deeply and for longer stretches, making it easier to move and pose them without waking.
Capturing the Newborn Essence: That fresh, tiny, brand-new look fades quickly. Photographing babies within the first two weeks helps preserve that fleeting newborn stage in timeless images.
Scheduling a newborn session with Ali Jones Photography during this window ensures the most natural, serene, and beautiful images.

Mumma & Me Session | Hunter valley & newcastle photographer
Jessie was my very first maternity session after relocating to the beautiful Hunter Valley — and we clicked right away! So it was such a joy to welcome her back into the studio with little Eliana at 7 weeks old. We took the opportunity to capture some sweet “Mumma & Me” moments, and I just adore how special these images turned out.
Did you know I offer dedicated Mumma & Me sessions for just $250? These sessions include 10 high-resolution images and are the perfect way to document those fleeting milestones — without breaking the budget. Whether your bub is 6 weeks or 6 months, these sessions are all about celebrating the love, connection, and magic of motherhood.
Reach out if you’d love to book one of your own — I’d be honoured to help you create memories that last a lifetime. 💛
Great Nephew Leon | Hunter Valley & Newcastle Photographer
Welcoming Baby Leon – A Special Family Moment
You know you're getting older when you become a great aunty! And what an incredible honour that is.
This past Good Friday was extra special for our family. My nephew Hayden became a dad for the very first time, welcoming his beautiful baby boy, Leon Andrew, into the world. What made it even more meaningful was that little Leon shares the middle name Andrew—a tribute to my late brother. That gesture touched all of us deeply.
Leon arrived earthside at around 6lbs—so tiny and perfect. His mum, Kiara, has stepped into motherhood so gracefully. Watching her care for her little one with such calm confidence was beautiful to witness. She’s truly taken to it like a duck to water.
I had the absolute honour of photographing their newborn session, and Leon was an angel—he slept peacefully the entire time, allowing me to capture so many tender moments and precious memories. These are the sessions that fill my heart the most. Not only was I able to document the beginning of a brand new life, but I was also surrounded by the warmth of family, love, and legacy.
This session will forever hold a special place in my heart—not just because of the images, but because of what they represent. New beginnings, deep roots, and the enduring bond of family.
Welcome to the world, little Leon. You are already so loved. 💙
Baby Demi | Hunter Valley & Newcastle Photographer
Chris and Bianca brought their beautiful baby girl Demi into the studio recently, and what a special session it was. They asked for skin-to-skin photos—something I absolutely love to shoot. There’s something incredibly raw, honest, and beautiful about capturing that early connection between parents and their newborn.
Demi was an absolute dream. She slept peacefully and let us move through the session with ease, allowing me to focus on the emotion, intimacy, and love these two share with their little girl.
What made this session even more special was the trust Chris and Bianca gave me. They allowed complete creative freedom, which is where I thrive—and I’m so proud of what we created together. These are the kinds of sessions that stay with me for a long time. 💕
